BITCOIN / YOUR TIME

The network didn’t
sit still.

Your time by the fire, measured in blocks, transactions and fees.

Latest saved observation: 2026-10-02T05:31:29.112Z. BTC/USD: 86334.3 (fresh, source time 2026-10-02T05:31:28.000Z). One-hour fee estimate: 1 sat/vB. Block: 969538. Source: mempool.space.

SINCE YOU SAT DOWN

While you were here.

Waiting for a validated observation.

Your starting point stays on this device. Sharing sends only the reference to a public observation, never wallet information. Shared cards expire after 7 days.

What does the session measure?

The beginning is the public block observation you saved locally, not your exact arrival time or an inferred mining time. The end is the latest validated observation. We count the complete sequence of canonical blocks strictly after the starting block and through the ending block. Price and one-hour fee changes use the two corresponding source observations; their clocks can differ.

Why can a session become unavailable?

A chain reorganization can replace the anchor, and a long absence can move it outside the retained block window. In either case totals are withheld. Resetting creates a new honest baseline. We retain up to 160 recent blocks in each client snapshot and retain shareable server observation references for 24 hours. No browsing history or wallet balance is collected.

Fees, issuance and transactions are different

Transactions counts include coinbase transactions. Fees are summed in satoshis, not guessed from a median fee rate. Permitted subsidy is calculated separately for each height: floor(5,000,000,000 / 2^floor(height / 210,000)) satoshis, with the consensus-era limit. Claimed subsidy is reward minus fees. At heights 839,999 and 840,000, permitted subsidies are 6.25 and 3.125 BTC, so the pair permits 9.375 BTC. We never call total output value real-world payments.

Sources and limitations

Block headers, transaction counts and total fees come from mempool.space. Field semantics can be compared with Bitcoin Core getblockstats. Observations can be delayed, incomplete or reorganized. A session is an educational view of this source’s chain, not independent consensus validation.
