Bitcoin market capitalization is its quoted price multiplied by the number of BTC issued. It is a broad size comparison, not the amount of money invested in Bitcoin or the cash needed to move its price. An asset’s market cap can change even when its supply does not.
How should I read this comparison?
Choose gold or another item in the ranking. The bars show its reported market cap against Bitcoin’s reported market cap from the same source snapshot. The percentage is Bitcoin divided by the selected asset, multiplied by 100. A percentage over 100 means Bitcoin’s reported cap is larger.
Why can two websites show a different Bitcoin rank?
Rank depends on the source, its update time and what it counts as an asset. This source mixes precious metals, companies, exchange-traded funds and cryptocurrencies. Some categories overlap, so do not add these rows together as if they were independent pools of money. Private-company estimates may be especially uncertain.
How fresh are the figures?
BTC Campfire retrieves a small factual snapshot from 8MarketCap approximately every two hours and shows its retrieval time. The upstream site says market-cap data may itself be delayed by minutes or hours. This is a visual comparison, not a trading quote, forecast or investment recommendation.
