When does Bitcoin get attention?
Explore daily human-classified views of the Bitcoin article on English Wikipedia since July 2015. This is one reproducible signal of attention, with its own audience and coverage.

Attention, sentiment and adoption are different
Attention asks whether people engage with a topic. Sentiment asks whether they feel positively or negatively. Adoption asks whether they use a technology. One person may generate multiple page views, searches or posts, and a large news story may attract readers who never buy Bitcoin.
This view keeps source measurements separate rather than blending incompatible counts into a persuasive-looking total. Its actual source coverage, earliest observation and last update appear with the chart.
Why an X hashtag count is difficult to promise
Counting every post containing #bitcoin requires an authorized source with defined query rules, historical coverage and treatment of reposts. Publicly visible examples are not a census. A missing X count is shown as unavailable rather than inferred from another platform.
Google Trends is usually a normalized measure of relative search interest, not an absolute count of Bitcoin searches. Two separately normalized windows cannot automatically be concatenated as though their scales were identical. If a source is not connected, this page does not claim to measure it.
Read attention around an event
Begin with a period wide enough to include the weeks before and after an event. Compare the peak with the ordinary level in that same source. A percentage change from a tiny baseline can look enormous, so inspect original counts as well.
The historical window describes the available dataset, not every mention of Bitcoin on the internet. Saved comparisons carry the source and period so another person can reproduce the observation.
Source methodology
The connected series uses Wikimedia’s daily page views for the English Wikipedia Bitcoin article, all access types and the user agent classification. The source begins on 1 July 2015. It counts views, not unique readers. Automated traffic classification can be imperfect, and reading in other languages is outside this series. Wikimedia: what counts as a page view ↗ explains the definitions. X hashtag totals and Google search volumes are not connected and are not inferred from Wikipedia.
